Car Import Finance

Put down 30%, choose any car from the Japanese auctions, and let your bank or employer SACCO settle the balance.

Most Kenyan banks will only lend against a car that is already sitting on a local yard — which limits you to whatever happens to be in the country, at local prices. Kilem Auto Import Finance removes that constraint: put down 30%, pick the car you actually want from the Japanese auctions, and we handle the purchase, shipping, clearance at Mombasa and NTSA registration while your bank or employer SACCO settles the balance.

How Our Import Financing Works:

🚗 Step 1: Agree on Vehicle Specs & Budget

We start by pinning down what you need — make, model, colour, acceptable mileage — and the total budget your financier is comfortable with. Browse our listings for what is currently at auction, or come into the yard and we will help you compare options honestly.

✅ Step 2: Confirm the Car and Condition

We track the auctions for vehicles that match your brief, then verify condition against the auction grading sheet — with a physical inspection in Japan where the value warrants it. You get a full written cost breakdown before anything is committed.

✍️ Step 3: Car Purchase & Signing of Sales Agreement

A 30% commitment deposit secures the vehicle at auction. We sign a binding sales agreement setting out the payment schedule in writing, then instruct our Japan partners to bid on your behalf.

🔍 Step 4: Inspection & Shipping Preparation

The vehicle clears the mandatory KEBS pre-export inspection, without which it cannot enter Kenya. Our partners de-register it in Japan and prepare the export certificate and bill of lading ready for the next vessel.

🚢 Step 5: Shipping & Arrival in Mombasa

Expect roughly 27–30 days at sea. When the vehicle docks in Mombasa our Kenyan team handles customs clearance, import duty and port charges, so you are not chasing anyone at the coast.

🏦 Step 6: Local Financing Process

With the car cleared and registered, we open the NTSA transfer with your financier. Your bank or employer SACCO releases the remaining 70% directly to us, the logbook is issued, and the car is yours to collect.

Our Partner Banks & Financing Institutions

We work with leading Kenyan banks and employer SACCOs to make vehicle financing as seamless as possible. Our established relationships mean faster approvals and smoother transactions for you.
